It is said that ancestors of mankind were born about 7 million years ago. Since ancient times, mankind has evolved by thinking by themselves and their intelligence has gradually increased. After many years, civilization was born.

Over many years, transportation systems such as trains, automobiles, ships, and airplanes have developed and improved, allowing people and goods to be able to move from one place to another in a very short period of time. In addition, merchandise such as food goods or industrial products are widely distributed throughout the world, and the recent development of IoT (Internet of Things) has made it possible to easily interact with people from all around the world, making the world a very convenient place. However, in recent years, people have not considered how this excessive development has impacted nature and the burden it holds upon the environment. Now, we face global warming which is causing abnormal weather such as droughts, heavy rains, huge typhoons, and we also see more frequently occurring earthquakes around the world.

Ocean Trading is a trading company and a wholesaler specializing in agricultural and marine products, and in 2022 we will celebrate our anniversary of half a century since our founding. Agricultural and marine products cannot be produced without the benefits of nature. In other words, we can only carry out business with the blessings of nature and the Earth.

With "Sanpo-Yoshi" as our company philosophy, we have continued to carry out business that benefits our suppliers, customers, and society. Over the past half-century, we have come to ask ourselves, "are we doing anything that will contribute to the Earth?” Looking back, we realized that our company, which has been kept alive for so many years by the blessings of the Earth, has hardly been able to give back anything to the Earth.

The SDGs scheme was launched in 2015, and we agree with this philosophy and belatedly started to work on our goals in 2020. Although our efforts may be small, we will contribute to the Earth and local communities by achieving the goals we have set for both SDGs and CSR programs.
