Choshimaru Norwegian Seafood Cooking Show held in Toyosu, Tokyo
On Saturday, August 17, Aurora Salmon lovers gathered in Toyosu, Tokyo. The Choshimaru Norwegian Seafood Cooking Show was held in the kitchen of Toyosu Market.
Aurora Salmon has been sold in Japanese restaurants for nearly two decades, with Sushi Choshimaru as the first restaurant to sell it 16 years ago. Since then, restaurants have been actively engaged in Aurora Salmon sales efforts, including product development that goes beyond sushi items. The product is now favored by many customers. To express our gratitude to Aurora Salmon fans, we co-hosted this event with Leroy Seafoods, the producer of Aurora Salmon, and distributor Daiichi Suisan Corporation. A total of 38 guests attended the event, which aimed to show the appeal of Aurora Salmon from various perspectives.
Frederik Hald, winner of the Norwegian Chef of the Year award and head of product development at Leroy Seafoods, was invited to present a cooking show using Aurora Salmon. The guests tasted Aurora Salmon sushi items and Mr. Hald's dishes.
The story of Aurora Salmon, including the various crises it faced over the past 16 years, was told in an engaging talk show format. Guests discovered how Leroy Seafoods, Daiichi Suisan Corporation, and Ocean Trading Co., Ltd. worked together to overcome these challenges.
Participants thoroughly enjoyed the event. “I learned about the hardships of the people behind the scenes, from aquaculture to purchasing. I appreciated hearing about something we do not hear about very often,” said a participant. Another said, “It was a wonderful event where I could learn a lot about Aurora Salmon and the love that Choshimaru employees have for their restaurant. I became an even bigger fan of Aurora Salmon and Choshimaru!”
We will continue to collaborate with everyone involved to satisfy our customers who enjoy Aurora Salmon.
